Eos 2.0 OLE needs to run as administrator on Win 7 and Win 8

Hi Everyone,

Please be aware that Eos Family Offline 2.0 may not run on your Win 7 or Win 8 PC without running as the administrator. The steps to do this are as follows:

1) Right click on the desktop Eos Family icon and select Properties.

2) Click on the "Compatibility" tab.

3) Under "Privilege Level", click on the box that says "Run this program as an adminstrator". The box should be checked.

do you also know if the ion 1.9 show file is compatible with the 2.0 version?

the reason of asking is that I would like to update my ion and I would like to use a theater show that is programmed in the 1.9 version

Yes your 1.9 show file will be compatible with V2.0

You should always be able to go forward with your show file.

Its going back the other way which will stop the features been added in 2.0 showing up on a 1.9 desk.

Can anyone explain why that is? I work in for a company where our privilieges as administrator are extremely limited, so this could be a great hinderance...

Hi Kjlove1love,

you will need to talk to Microsoft about why they make such changes in their Windows Software.

Running an application with "Run as Administrator" doesn't need for you to be logged in as an ADMIN.

Just click on the Icon for Eos on your computer, and uder the tab Compatibility, check the box "Run this program as administrator".

Similar issue, with same solution : on my PC, Eos Offline ran fine, except I couldn't successfully access any show files to load or save.

Setting shortcut as Administrator solved this
