Any ideas when the ipod/phone application is going to be released?
Thanks
The iRFR does not emulate the cRRFU and it's limited feature set. It is a full RFR emulator. Congo has supported encoder control of parameters since the initial launch of the RFR using the physical encoders on the sides. The iRFR also emulates those encoders.
The RFR is a universal piece of hardware that gets it features from the console its connected to. The iRFR is similar to this. The available features with Eos and Congo are therefore slightly different as the two platforms are developed independently.
Thanks for the information, I thought that was the case and it did what the RFR does, but wanted to make sure. The only screenshots I've seen have apparently been for the Eos (they all have Sneak on them) so I wanted to make sure it did all the RFR stuff that is outlined in the Congo manual.
Now, the waiting continues.....
Sara,
I have to say that after I downloaded the irfr last night I was especially excited...then I noticed that we wouldn't have access to the parameter and color picker in congo.
What in the world...after all the wait and we get the basic features of the remote sent with the machine. I am extremely disappointed.

Operation of the RFR and iRFR is dependant on the host console - the Eos and Congo families have slightly different feature sets and very different methods of operation due to the differing style of programming on these consoles.
The Eos pages do not apply to Congo - Congo users should ignore these completely.
Equally, the Congo pages do not apply to Eos.
When hosted by Congo, you'll find two Attribute encoders when in the Device mode, and can use the 'softkeys' to choose which attributes are assigned to them in the same way you change the attributes assigned to the four encoders on the Congo console.
ok...fair enough...why when I click the attribute encoders does it not operate correctly for pan/tilt and colors etc.
So when I click the wheel when on zero it doesn't go to full it goes to "-0" or if at 50 for pan/tilt and i press it...it goes to "-50" I think this is a bug...it should go to either 0 or full shouldn't it.
The functionality on the RFR is slightly different to the real console as it has a much smaller number of keys and 'clicky' encoders.
Clicking the encoders on a Congo-hosted RFR changes the sensitivity of the wheel, similar to "Coarse/Fine Mode" on the console.
The "-" indicates that the encoder is in Fine mode.
There is a User Guide to the iRFR functionality in the Wiki, and the Online Help under Accessories > Remote Control, or by searching Online Help for "RFR"
I am loving the iRFR, thank you for getting it out. I used it last night during an archive photo shoot, and it worked great. Nice interface, and once I get used to it, I'm sure it will be much faster to work with than my cRRFU.
My only question is in the patch section. I played with it a bit and got it to patch, which is great (can't wait for my next focus session), but I couldn't get it to bring up intensities on outputs. I punched in 55 Output 100 @, expecting Output 55 to come up, but nothing came up, although it showed that the output was full on the iRFR display. Am I doing something wrong?
You are probably doing it correctly. However, in v5.1 there is a problem with some output related operations together with the iRFR.
This is fixed in the upcoming v6.
Thanks, Anders, I'll wait for "later this summer"....

As for EOS / Ion compatibility... The product overview currently states that it is only for Congo, but from the Wiki and other discussions on the boards, the same iRFR (or an update) will be compatible with Eos/Ion Version 1.5 when that is released.
Also, if you haven't read, here is the news article of the iRFR release.
