ETC Express colour

Hey there! Just a quick question from me.

How would I get RGB CMY colours on an ETC Express lighting board as there is no key on the keypad that says "colour" so how would I get colour on lights that DO NOT NEED A GEL SHEET? Thanks!

  • Express consoles date from before the existence of RGB LED lighting fixtures. "Channel" is the ultimate level of control - Express does not handle attributes like color or focus directly.

You have to go into the patch page and assign the dmx address for "red" on your LED fixture to a channel number, then "green" to the next channel, then "blue" to a third. Then you do color mixing by adjusting the levels of those three channels. It's as if you have three lights, one with a red gel, one with a green gel, one with a blue gel.

    Good luck!
