Hi all - you may have heard that there's an update for the aRFR/iRFR apps coming. There's some important information you will need as a Cobalt user. This update is Eos compatible at the moment (with v2.6 software on the Eos product.) It is not compatible with earlier versions of Eos software or any Cobalt/Congo software.
If your device automatically updates apps, it's possible you might come into the venue one day and find your remote no longer works. We recommend keeping an eye out for the iRFR/aRFR Classic apps in the respective stores to solve this. If they're not visible now, they will be very soon. This classic app is the exact same app as you have now, for free. You can have both apps installed on your device in the case you move from venue to venue and encounter Eos consoles of differing software versions or if you work with both Eos and Cobalt.
Is it planned that this new app will be Cobalt compatible in the future? Yes, it's on our list. However, at this point in time, the classic app is a fully featured remote solution for Cobalt/Congo systems and the new app is still growing - meaning the initial feature set would actually be a step back for Cobalt users. In time we hope to bring the new app up to spec, but in the mean time, please keep using the Classic apps with Cobalt/Congo systems.
