Red Color channel jumping to 255 when releasing playback

We have installed a ColorSource 40 console at a town hall venue that is showing some weird behavior whenever releasing a playback that has a single cue recorded:

  1. Select circuit of some arbitrary RGBW lamp (e.g. tested with Robe ParFect 100 running Mode 1)
  2. Put intensity to full level, select a deep blue color
  3. Record to a playback

When moving the playback fader up, the color fades as expected, however when moving back down, the lamp switches to full red output for a brief second before switching of. This can be seen as a red flash on stage.

What I know so far:

  1. RGBW channels of fixture all have home value of 255 (R255, G255, B255, W255)
  2. When moving the playback back down, red jumps from 0 to 255, fixture does not return to home position but stays at (R255, G0, B0, W0)
  3. This can be observed both by monitoring the DMX output via 3rdparty gear or by checking the 'universe' view on the patch screen
  4. Software was already upgraded to 1.2.0 including 1.1 bootloader
  5. Also tried with a manually written fixture and different lamp type, can observe same behavior

Any ideas what might be going wrong there? Please find the show file attached: /cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/164/cabarett-training.zip

Thanks!

  • Hello -

Thank you for this report. We believe we have found the issue in ColorSource that this particular fixture is reacting to. We do not have access to this fixture in our labs, though, so we would like to ask you to perform some beta testing for us so that we know we have solved this issue. Could you please send me your contact information and location to sarah.clausen AT etcconnect DOT com?

    Thanks!

    Sarah
