USB MTC from Olab to Nomad

I think you may be making this hard for yourself as both qlab and Nomad can talk to each other on normal network connection between the two machines using OSC,   So no need for any midi devices etc.  unless I am completely missing what you are trying to do.  

So just put an Ethernet cable between the two (or if its for home personal use it will probably work ok on wifi anyway)

Actually re reading your post if you are wanting specifically the time code you might need to do that with midi,  but with qlab its probably easier to fire the cues from its time line rather than set then up on the synchronised time code at the nomad end.

Normally I would use qlab and OSC the lights. However this occasion I’m only programming and with it being a dance school they want to keep control off the audio. They have informed me all they are able to send is mtc so having to program lights Iain get that this time round. 

This is an old post, but you could look into using rtpMIDI/network MIDI to transport MIDI over a network. Mac OS X has a built in driver, on the Windows side there is this driver: https://www.tobias-erichsen.de/software/rtpmidi.html I haven't personally tried this, but collegues of mine have used this driver with success in other set ups. I'm not sure how it'll react to MTC though.
