Gadget 2 unable to update firmware from Nomad PC

I recently got a Nomad key and Gadget 2. The Nomad key is great, just plug and play but the Gadget 2 won't update firmware although I have been following the instructions in the following link:

I am running windows 7 pro with Nomad 2.4.

so you're trying to update by using the Update I/O button in the shell? what happens then?

i'm doing the same thing and at this point it stalls on "Please Connect Console". the update never appears in the pull down window.

Do you have a Gadget I or Gadget II? Gadget II updates via the Firmware Update box at the bottom of the Maintenance tab. Gadget I uses Upgrade I/O Firmware.

Do you have a Gadget I or Gadget II? Gadget II updates via the Firmware Update box at the bottom of the Maintenance tab. Gadget I uses Upgrade I/O Firmware.
