Getting nomad to work between Ion and PC

I have an Ion running 2.4.0.9 and Nomad software running on my PC that is the same version. When I try to put the PC in mirror mode it will not see the master ION. I can ping the ION from the PC and when I look in the logs on the ION it lists the PC as a device it sees. When I click mirror mode it eventually just times out. I tried turning off the firewall in case it was some strange port problem. Interesting, I can not ping the PC from the Ion although the Ion does list the PC as a device it sees but just won't connect to it.

Any hints as to what to try next?

Hi Ed,

When you start Nomad in Mirror mode, are you seeing "Searching for master console..." in the CIA? Is so, try exiting your Ion to its Shell and restart in Primary. Hope this helps!

It worked when I went in the next day. I started the PC first so maybe that's what it needed. Thanks for the suggestion.

The Ion console needs to see an active network or it won't turn it's network card on. Always have something else, even a switch, on before you go into the app on the console.

The Ion was already plugged into a router so I'm not convinced that was the issue. I think it just wanted to see Nomad when it started so starting them in the reverse order solved the problem. The show opened so I won't have time to play with this again for a while.
