Importing Timecode

Hey all,

is there a way to take a marker CSV from my DAW and import that into a show control event list with cue information?

Hi,
if you format your CSV in Eos style, it can contain show control event information. So you probably have to do some editing in Excel before it can be read correctly.
To make sure the format is as expected, I can recommend exporting a simple showfile from Eos (including some show control events) as CSV and use this as a template.

So, I export a CSV and opened in excel and got Target_DCID instead of timecode. Is there a way to interpret this?
example
TARGET_TYPE_AS_TEXT TARGET_LIST_NUMBER TARGET_ID TARGET_DCID

Hi,

Did you have some Show Control events in the Showfile you exported a CSV from ? When you do, you should have an according section all the way towards the end of your CSV labeled as START_SHOWCONTROL and END_SHOWCONTROL. I have attached a very simple demo CSV to look at or to import. This section is what needs to be editedin order to get Timecode values into the console. (I had to rename the file extension to .xls so that I could upload, just rename it back to .csv)

Does ProTools 12 export a csv currently in regards to markers and it's timeline? Are you able to upload one for me to see?

It might be worth taking a look at Stamp (www.artificers.co.uk), which is designed to allow you to create cues and events in relation to a audio or movie file and export them to a file which Eos can import. I could certainly work in a way of importing in a ProTools 12 csv into Stamp to convert that to an Eos cue/Event list if Protools does indeed export some kind of file..?
