Having some issues with the personality currently included for the Robert Juliat D’Artagnan (www.robertjuliat.com/.../DSEN078_930CSNX.pdf ). Lamp On not keeping the fixture struck, not having shutter control, etc.
Any chance of the personality getting looked at so it plays a bit nicer with the fixture (and better matches the different control modes of the fixture)?
In the current fixture library version (v2.7.4 build 11) there only exists one mode of the Robert Juliat D'Artagnan. I am happy to submit this fixture profile request for the rest of the modes this fixture has to offer (modes 2-4). Please let me know if you need this profile sooner than 2 weeks, otherwise the update should be added to the next release of fixture library software.
The manual provided in the link does not have a DMX chart with specific enough information for the Eos team to program a functioning fixture profile. Please link a DMX chart for this fixture so that the team may build these additional modes.
Specifically, the "Dimmer Master" plus "Dimmer" channels (in modes 2 and 4) suggests 16bit intensity. However, this does not add up with ch2 as MSB and ch1 as LSB as this would be backwards to most fixtures. Additionally, the "Lamp" channel does not have any DMX ranges provided on the manual for the team to know what DMX values are for Lamp On and what values are for Lamp Off.
Unfortunately the DMX chart linked previously is the most detailed information we have for the fixture. (Trust me, we were having an adventure figuring out controlling the fixture.) One complicating factor is that each of the attributes (Master, Dimmer, Shutter) can be individually addressed and don't have to be sequential numbers. We're reaching out to Robert Juliat to see if they can provide more detailed DMX information.
I received the following from Robert Juliat this morning explaining the relationship between "Master" and "Dimmer" channels. So not 16bit intensity, but rather a Master channel that limits the maximum allowable output of local dimmer control. Both dimmers are 8bit.
Again, each attribute (Lamp, Dimmer, Master) can be independently addressed, or disabled on the fixture with an address of 0 (which has the effect of changing into one of the 4 modes noted in the manual).
Lamp control has no timing function; Juliat says "the lamp turns on when DMX value is going above 24 and turns off when the DMX value is going under 12".
Hopefully this information is enough to be helpful...
I will follow up with the Eos team on this and see if this information will provide them with enough information to create a profile. Thank you!
