Can we get a way to save a “base” file that acts as a default that cannot be charged/updated without a password. Like a default file. I understand Cobalt has this and EOS users would enjoy it. This would help in multi user light labs and rental venues.

  • If you really want to do this, its actually reasonable simple to achieve.

    You just need to rename the file from the windows explorer (which you can get to from the shell on a desk) or trivially on nomads.

    If your base file was Base 2019-07-17 11-02-35.esf just change the year in the file name to 2030 and then even if someone saves over the base file it will always open this one as it will be the "latest" as far as EOS is concerned.
