Downloading virtual Smartfade software to a mac

I know there has been discussion on this topic but I am still confused. I have a MacBook Pro OS X Yosemite v. 10.10.5 and am soon to purchase an ETC SmartFade 24/96. I would like to get some practice using the virtual console, however I have tried to down load it to my mac and it says that the software is not from an authorised app supplier, so will not let me download it. Can anyone help?

My wife has a Windows PC, so I could use this as a last resort if necessary.

as far as i know, smartfade for mac was discontinued because it was incompatible to some changes introduced by an OSX update.
can i ask, have you had a look at ETC's ColorSource Family of consoles? they seem to be increasingly popular and service the same market as smartfade but with some slightly more modern features

I am running Smartsoft on Mac 10.10.5 fine. You should be able to "Download anyway" Then when you go to open it you will get another Mac warning re software downloaded from internet - you can get around that by right click (option click?) file> open to install it ( cant remember exact method but you can find that solution on line for non Mac authorised software.

Virtual Smartfade lighting desk is now working on my mac. Recently moved from PC to Mac so still finding my way around. Thanks for your help.
