Solid State Drives

With Hog3 it was advised NOT to use SSDs as there was no performance gain, what with the Hog3 software writing very many small files. Since the new consoles have SSDs, does it mean that issue has been overcome? Does the Hog software not deal with many small files now, or has this writing process just been streamlined somehow? And what all this questioning is leading to is: Can I now install an SSD into my Hog4PC remote tablet?

  • If you are interested in some details around the fastest SSDs on the market check out this site: www.fastestssd.com. I have about 20 SSDs across my machines at home totaling about 5TB. They are all consumer grade. I have the potential of getting one of the very performant PCI Express SSDs or a fibre channel attached high capacity flash array for evaluation for a project I am working on. If I do and things go well during the testing I may post some results here. Unfortunately, right now I cannot share any details about what I am using the high end SSD / flash for.
