confusion about cold boot process on FullBoar4

Hey Guys
i just started to check what the deal in optimizing the cold boot process on a fullboar is.

So here is how it is working now.

I do a soft-shutdown in Hog OS. When the desk has shut down a red LED on the DMX Widget is still lit on.
When i hit the physical PowerSwitch at the back of the console to OFF the red LED from the DMX Widget goes to zero intensity after 7,5 sec.

After the LED is off i'm able to restart the desk again, which is a power cycle of 7,5 sec.

While the LED is still lit on i am NOT able to restart the desk.

I have read several threads about the cold boot thing and people asking questions about it.
HES Stuff always answering that "you don't have to wait ... sec to restart the desk".

So my question is, HOW this SHOULD work. HOW MANY sec do you need to wait until you can hit the power switch to ON and restart the desk?

My Fullboar4 is not in the range of serial-numbers, where the cold boot optimization can/should be done. I also took a look inside the desk. There is no lead to be cut and the one lead of the jumper is on the right side.

I also went into the bios and performed step 1 - 16 of the PDF.
There is no change after that in doing a cold boot.

So whats the deal with it?

  • Marc, its not about soft-restarting the system.
I know these shortcuts and i had never problems restarting desks.
I'm talking about the 'cold boot'.
I understand 'cold boot' in power cycle the desk. Point me in the right direction if i am wrong.

People stated out that it would last too long to power cycle the desk.
And i was reading some post as i mentioned where HES said that you would not have to wait ...sec to power cycle.
