Is there any way to change the cross fade on my road hog for chases? When I hold the choose button the encoders allow me to change rate and size but no cross fade as the manual would indicate. When I manually type in the crossfade there seems to be no effect. I can change fade times but the crossfade should be relative to the bpm of the chase.

If I understand correctly. When using WAIT times to control the cues advancing, and not setting IS A CHASE in the options window, you can change the Playback Rate and the Cross Fade stays relative to the Playback Rate. For example put 5 seconds in the WAIT column for each cue in the sequence. When pressing and holding CHOOSE the Playback Rate encoder will accomplish it. You mention Chases so I assume you are selecting IS A CHASE in the Options tab.
You can also press and hold CHOOSE and tap the PLAY button at the speed you would like and the BPM will reflect the speed between the button presses. Fade also changes to stay relative to the BPM.
Mitch Thats not much help when using dimmer chases , live crossfade should still be accessable Plus when is a chase going to contain efx usually its a single cue or stack of cues a chase is always going to be a chase and need the relevant adjustments on the wheels mikey

I would think when you hold the choose button down then whatever is in one that playback, scene, list, list/chase should have encoders suited to the item on the playback
Andy, problem is that with a 5 encoder console it would work:
Playbackrate Efx size Efx rate X-fade Intensity
But what about a 4 encoder console? Because you can have also EFX in a scene, list or chase.
I don´t use chases very often, as I prefer to use programming with timing but I see the need for a x-fade option without changing the fade time, which would have the same result
I would personally say in a list that is a chase that speed and crossfade are the most important things, I do not think i would ever have FX involved, not to say some folk might like to do all that, but if running a chase these are important parts to control and have access to.
I think then when you select this is a chase, then you should get the option to tick a box to say how best you want to control the chase, but although I do not make lists into a chase very often, the speed and crossfade is alway adjusted.
The times I want a chase style something that is more complex I will use follow and macro that list into a show playback or make links, but certainly a less complex 4 cue chase I want access to crossfade, old skool Marc :)
Have to agree with you Andy, in a chase i would only need rate and x-fade. But you know all these ideas and options and all questions I had been asked during all my trainings that there are people around that would like to combine chases with efx.
So I´m with you that if we have "Is a chase" selected we should have on the encoders: rate, x-fade and intensity. If you have a list with efx that sould act like a chase you could set all wait-cells to follow, and then have access to the rate and efx-parameters
Marc, I kinda think they way I would do things, a VM fired from the main playback is a list for me if it requires complex time or its a one shot run of something, if its simple 4 step something simple, then its a chase.
The first way is done with a known fade time and how I want to time the sequence, the second way is more a live feel that needs adjustment.
I guess when we get palette to palette FX then the chase can become a little more redundant.
