  • It depends which mode you want to control the fixture in.

Modes 2 (16bit) and 3 (8bit) are the simplest for patching / programming if you just want to control it like a simple mover with 1 color output. i.e. When it's 'RED' , all the leds are RED. In these examples, it wouldn't need a multi patch.

If you want to control the individual led rings independently, then you'd use mode 1 or 5 and would need a multi patch.

Lets say you addressed your fixture at 001. in mode 1, it's DMX foot print would cover 35 channels (001 - 035)
    You would for example patch:
    Channel Fixture profile Address
    (101) Robin 100 m1 Motion @ 001
    (111) Robin 100 m1 cell @007
    (121) Robin 100 m1 cell @015
    (131) Robin 100 m1 cell @023
    (141) Robin 100 m1 Beam @031

Now the single instrument is seen by Hog as 4 'fixtures'.
Channel 141 must be at FULL to see any output (I changed the default to always FULL).
Then 111,121,131 at FULL for intensity/color for individual rings
    Channel 101 to adjust pan/tilt.

Palettes will be your friend for these.
If you don't need the individual ring control, I recommend the easier modes. But man you can make some awesome effects with indiv. control!
    Good Luck.
