Yeah I only carry a MBP anymore. Like I mentioned above, Bootcamp is the way to go. If it's a quick patch check or something, I'll use Parallels, but there are far too many issues using parallels with ANYTHING PC not just Hog to consider it even remotely show safe.
This is for a fixed install in our church so it will be set to always boot to PC mode via Bootcamp. Just running two dozen desk channels and about 30 LED fixtures, Pars and tape.
Just understand that while many users do in fact use it in this method, it should be stated out-right, that it is technically not supported as it has never been made to work and tested. CMA reply :-)
Curious Paul…as, when it's in bootcamp, it is basically a windows machine (and no longer a Mac) why it would be unsupported? I can understand using Parallels or any virtual machine, but why not under Bootcamp?
It's a fair question. Unfortunately I'm not the best person to answer anything as it relates to anything Mac. I bet the test guys can elaborate more, but I know that historically this is something that hasn't never been flushed out and officially tested, therefore the reply to use with general caution.
Got it…makes sense. But yes, under Bootcamp, you basically partition your hard drive as a bootable Windows computer. No longer Mac in any sense of the word. That's why I made sure I said no to Parallels and any "virtual" machine. But thanks for the clarification.
