Does anyone know how the newest HedgeHog 4x software update allows for external touchscreen expansion? Is it through the usb ports, or is through the internal mobo?
There is a new version of the HH the HH4S and HH4X This will have external monitor-support. Older versions ca be upgraded. To upgrade you need to contact your HES Dealer and purchase a code. Bit similar to the upgrade-routine for the H3-widgets
Please note, that current/existing HH4 and HH4N units will need chassis hardware changes as apart of the upgrade. Those units MUST be sent back for the upgrade.
To be honest, are they really just drilling a hole in the back? During routine cleaning, I just cant help but notice the extra usb ports as well as the open vga(or dvi cant remember which at the moment) port. Is the software being upgraded as well or is it really just a hardware add on?
There will be changed some cable-looms so that you can get all connectors (I guess) and "software" will be upgraded as well. Like mentioned above you can purchase an upgrade code and the upgrade the console.
Ive just been told by a dealer that you cannot upgrade from HHN to HHS you can only go HHN to HHX - can someone from HES confirm or deny this please - as I just want the screen support Thanks Kevin
Please not that upgrading from a HH4N to either the S or X will require a hardware change, we the chassis has to be replace in order to allow for the connections on the rear-side of the console.
