I'm having issues opening any file created or edited with hog4pc 3.9.0 on a hedgehog also at 3.9.0. The file manager on the console reads the file as an unrecognized version and will not enable the option to open. I am able to go there other way and open backups from the console on hog4pc. What am I missing?
Are you sure that you have the same builds on HOGPC and Hedgehog? How did you do the Fullinstall-Stick for the Hedgehog? With Etcher? Did you try to reinstall both Versions?
I am not sure about the builds and suspect that to be the issue. The console is a rental to give it a chance for a small community theater. It's similar to the hog 3 which was the last hog console I used for shows but different. I was hoping to be able to preprogram prior to load in. I didn't want to risk a full install on a rental console with only a night before load in. If we commit to another rental, I would confirm that the build is current.
To my knowledge, there is only 1 build per OS version, so if they're both on 3.9.0 they will be the same build. I'm assuming you're taking a backup of your show on HPC and then trying to put the backup into the HHedgehog?
Correct, if both have installed release. But there is also a beta program. ;-) Full Install is no big deal. Just make sure that you backup showfiles before and use ETCHER to create the USB stick for the install
Correct, I am using backups. Originally had show preprogrammed in PC then tried transferring to the console. Unknown version. Rebuilt show on console and then opened backup in PC. No issue. Saved altered show file (backup) back to USB and again unrecognized format. I did notice when looking at the media folder that the container did not have all of the expanded media for pixel mapping which my PC version does have. Should I have updated the fixture library on the console for it to have worked?
New Pixelmap content will only be included if your show has been started with the new lib. It will not automatically update an older showfile when loaded in 3.9
