Hi, I am building a new console and have an intermittent problem with Backup. It worked at first, then started to fail consistently. Attached is a screen shot Got a Fix?
3.17 checks for show corruption on backup. You've somehow managed to corrupt your show. If you scroll up you will see a more specific error in red highlight and suggested recovery.
I've also had this on RH4. Upgraded to 3.17 (full install), merged my old 'startup' show in from it's 3.16 version into a new blank 3.17 show and got the backup failure. No file created. Specific error 'Attic state mismatch in tableview items' suggested that I logged off and back on, which did seem to cure the problem. I'm wondering if the 'corruption' was merged in from the old show, if not it didn't seem to take much to corrupt a show file?
We've found one situation where the desk will induce a backup error: delete a view and don't log off prior to backing up. Log-off historically runs some database cleanup logic that often un-corrupts a show.
If there are other sequences of events that corrupt a show please send any reports. Over the years we have seen instances of Windows writing zero byte files, zip/tar not extracting all files (while a virus scanner was running in the background), etc.
I didn't realize that Logging off was so important. I usually just quit. I have another issue with moving a show file that runs fine, from the console PC to my laptop. It fails to start the server. I will go back to the console PC and try logging off prior to making a copy of the file.
