Yes, you can have either 2 or 12 universes.  However, you cannot stack the 1K's or have a 1K on top of a 6K.

Thank you for your answer. A side question: I know that on EOS in a network session the output is limited by the console with the least amount of licenced channels. (So an IONxe 12K and a 1K nomad in a session will only output 1K.)

Is it the same on Hog?

Sorry, to be specific these keys only work on Hog 4 PC, not on the consoles.  You'll need widgets, an HPU, or DP8000 to expand universes on a console.  You could network a pc to your console with Hog 4 on it and put the keys there for additional processing, but they don't work directly in the desk.  More info here:

Sorry, I meant on pc. When connecting one hog on pc to a console via hognet, i guess the pc must be licensed. As I mentioned on EOS you could output the number of channels the EOS device with the least amount of channels can output. I wondered how it works on hog. If I connect to a hog console licensed to a higher number of channels. Does the hog on pc decrease the number of channels the console can output when connecting it via hognet?

No, it does not affect the number of outputs of the console.
