This is on the list for the next version of Designer (1.9.7). The specific issue is that the font the TPC uses to draw characters does not include Kanji characters. We will be adding these characters to the font for the next version, along with necessary additions for other languages as well. They display correctly in Touch Editor because windows will use a different font to draw the necessary characters if they do not exist in the font.
