Paradigm control of Philips Hue?

I've been asked can it be done.

(Yes, the answer is always yes...but how reasonable?)

I see a few GitHub projects that convert Artnet or OSC to Phips Hue hub, etc....but they are all kind of hacks that can't really be used in an installation.

Are there any custom scripts for LightDesigner?

Any 3rd party boxes or programs (there is a PC on the lighting network) that can RELIABLE control the Philips Hue?

Thanks

  • There is no product dedicated to just doing this, it'll be some crazy plan to make it work like you were suggesting.
And the bigger question is what type or responsiveness do you need.  Because once you start converting and doing protocol changes it's very unlikely you'll get instant feedback without a delay of button push to seeing the result.

The real answer is don't use Phillip Hue Bulbs.  You'd want to look at a similar product that does use Wireless DMX (via CRMX).  And while it pains me to say go look at another manufacturer, i'll pull a Mircale on 34th Street and send you to Gimbel's.
