Has ETC missed a trick with Amigo?
Would it be possible to create an ‘online offline’ editor by serving the Amigo content from a web server? This would get round the platform compatibility problems. Show files could be created and edited using any tablet, smart phone, Mac or Windows PC. Users might need an account to register server space to store their work, and would eventually need to download the result on to a suitable computer so it could be copied to the console via USB stick.
There would be no need for users to keep updating their OLEs in line with console improvements, show files could be shared and archived for security, and ETC could possibly make some money out of hiring out server space.
It might be possible to couple it to some sort of web based visualiser.
An ‘Amigo’ version of a fixture profile editor via the web would remove platform incompatibility issues too, and profiles created by users could also be shared more easily.
