Could someone please explain to me the workings of the Record Include options.
Correct me if I am wrong but my understanding is that the CS console does not track, i.e. it stores a value for every DMX address in every cue or playback and then combines these by crossfade or HTP to create the live output. So what does it store for channels NOT included? As far as I can see by experimenting with Record Include Selected, channels not selected are zeroed, which begs the question what is the difference between Record Include Active and Record All, as inactive channels are at zero anyway?
I can see limited use for ‘Include Selected’. You might in rehearsal want to leave the house lights on and not want them included in the cues you are plotting, but I would love to know what other uses folks find for these options.
ColorSource is HTP for Intensity/Color and LTP for all other parameters.
The include options are probably most useful when recording Playbacks, as you'll often have a complete look on stage and want to record parts of it for later busking combinations.
Thanks Richard. Yes, I can see how Include Selected might help with Playbacks for later mixing HTP, but I’m still none the wiser about Include Active.
