I would like to use Capture for Mac with my CS20. Which USB/Ethernet Interface is compatible? cheaper the better (capture is pricey)!

Hello,
You need to use your Mac and the CS20AV with the ethernet connection. USB is not intended for this.
Set the Mac address in the same address range as the CS20. And it will work.
Thanks for the response PBo67. Does it matter which Ethernet to DMX interface is used for my CS20?
If you have a CS20 and not a CS20AV, you don't have an Ethernet connector. So no possibility to connect a computer with Capture.
With that said I can only assume the offline controller won’t work with capture!
Sadly the Mac version of the Offline Editor doesn't support local machine connection to capture. The PC version does. If you have a DMX to Ethernet converter like a Response Mk2 gateway you could use that to connect to a Mac running Capture.
Lowell, will the Enttec ODE MK2 or DMXKING Edmx1 work.
They should. It's worth noting you'll need a cable that switches cable direction if you go with the DMXKING since it's designed for output and you'll need input.
Thanks Lowell, I really appreciate it. Dang these things are expensive! I wonder if a standard ethernet to DMX converter would work, I'm gonna give that try before blowing more cash.
If you send me an example i'll let you know if it will work or not. But you're probably not going to find anything much cheaper.
This is what I have.
So that isn't actually a converter. That just lets you run DMX over CAT5 cable. To make this work you need to actually switch between protocols not cable types. What you need is a DMX to Ethernet Protocol (sACN or ArtNet) converter like our Response Gateways or the two you mentioned earlier.
Gotcha, this would be my only affordable option.
