After downloading, unpacking and installing the ColorSourceLauncher the simulator immediately shuts down when choosing the console type.
What can solve this?

  • This may be a folder permissions issue caused by an Eos installer that ends up blocking CS from writing to its persistent storage.

Some older versions of the Eos installer had a bug that they would create the ETC show and persistent storage folders with the wrong permissions, so that Eos is the only application that can write there. Updating Eos won't change this as the installer only sets permissions if it creates the folder.

If that's happened then Eos works just fine, it only affects the other ETC applications like CS Offline, Concert etc.

Make sure the "owner" of these folders is your user, and not "system":

    • $HOME/Documents/ETC
    • $HOME/Library/Application Support/ETC

Note that Library is a hidden folder so you'll need to use command + shift + . to see it in Finder
