On a ColorSource 40 AV... 
 I'm wanting to create a playback sequence that will flash a series of lighting fixtures that are already at full intensity in a working cue. i.e the sequence would need to be able to turn off a fixture then return it to its on state as oppose to turning on a fixture then back to off. Is there a way to accomplish that?

Playbacks are always HTP, so can't turn a light off - unless Solo'd. 
 If Solo isn't want you're after, then you can use an Intensity Effect. 
 Effects use the 'current' HTP value as the centre of the Effect, so simply make Size large enough to take them to zero and record that effect to your Playback.
