Led intensity level in cue play back

Ok weird thing going on. I’m recording cues with led fixtures… I record them with 100% intensity but when the cue is played they only come up to 81%.???

  • Checking other cues. Some are recording at other levels but not the 100% recorded at… frustrated that so many cues are now wrong

  • Also none led fixtures play back just fine, appears to only be led’s. I am running the latest firmware 3.3.2.57

  • If this is a version issue, is it possible to switch back to a previous version, I need this running correctly in a couple of days!

  • It sounds like you have recorded some channels with "dim" manually-mixed (direct) LED colors.

To ensure gel crossfades always work as expected, ColorSource normalizes direct LED color mixes to have at least one emitter at full.
The main reason for this is that recording black or near black LED colors is very confusing, as the light may have a full Intensity - yet is actually (nearly) off!

So if you set all the direct LED color parameters less than full, when you record it will bring them up  proportionally to the "brightest version of" your color, and reduce the Intensity so the actual light output is unchanged.

To avoid this normalization, make sure that at least one LED color is at full when manually mixing colors.

  • I tested creating my cue and entering the rgbaw values manually and yes the cue brings the intensity to 100% as stored... the dimmed values happen when I set the color using the color palettes. Is there a setting that allows me to use the color palette to set the color and allow full intensity when played back. I see your reference to the direct LED color parameters not certain where those are but will poke around for them. I would like to use the palettes to allow more efficiently change the cue colors as needed.

  • Rereading what you said, I didn’t manually enter the numbers. I selected the colour from the colour pick tab then stored the color to a palette. Then assign the palette to the led fixture and recorded the look to a cue with the fixture at full intensity. As I mentioned early if I manually enter the colour numbers manually for the fixture and then record the look to a cue it plays back fine. Hoping to have an answer that allows me to use the color palette as it will save so much time. Any ideas on what is going on?
on another note I posted another palette issue earlier that has now been confirmed an issue… I wanted to use palette so they are referenced in the cue so changing the palette’s color would update all cues it was used in. So it would seem there’s an issue with the palettes?
