MIDI controllers

Hi.

I can't understand format of MIDI signals to pressing console keys by external midi controller.  I read midi chapter in manual, but still not understand.

I have KORG nanoPad and nanoControl working both with console, and faders from 0 to 8 working fine, but how I can recognize midi notes of other keys?

For example I using editor like this:

Thanx.

  • Hi,

It depends a bit on what type of buttons you want to press. There is a Direct mode with easy access to common buttons (masters, flash, page +/-, direct select, go/pause/go back etc) through MIDI notes. Or there is an older mechanism where you can access most buttons but in a more complicated way because of the MIDI limitation of 128 notes.

I'd recommend you to have a look at the Direct mode in the MIDI setup.
