Windows blue screen of death and .DDL problems

Hi,


I have a Congo running the latest version of Cobalt.  Today, out of nowhere, I am getting repeated Windows blue screens of death and an occasional .DDL error and the whole thing crashes like never before... 


Any ideas how I can solve this?  From a casual conversation with a work associate, we concluded that the drive would need to be formatted and Windows reloaded...
 Are we right and is it a user-serviceable problem?  Many Thanks...
