Cobalt v7.2 Software is released and available for download!

ETC’s new Cobalt® software v7.2 introduces the Beat Boss controller for dynamic playback rates and includes enhancements to recording, direct selects, masters and Help tools.  Cobalt v7.2 also supports the Cobalt Programming Wing and Motorized Fader Wings for ETCnomad™ and ETCnomad Puck™.

The v7.2 software requires a firmware update for Cobalt 20 and Cobalt 10 consoles. Please be advised that the firmware update may take up to an hour to install.

The v7.2 software update includes the following features:

  • Nine new "Beat Bosses" synchronize effect playback rates to a tapped or numerically-entered tempo
  • Cue Sequences options allow users to use consecutive or repeating cue numbers in multiple sequences, independent of Presets
  • Master Playbacks may now be set as targets for the Record and Update keys
  • "Return to" parameter selects a look that will be executed upon completion of a content effect
  • Help Dock provides interactive, immediate contextual assistance and hyperlinks to supplementary information
  • Hard keys may now be used in combination with direct selects
  • Device mode masters now allow custom pages per device type, allowing users to separate devices by similar parameter needs
  • New Action Macro commands and Action Macros are now a direct select data type
  • Direct Select Dock includes new Arrange functions: TEXT and DELETE

  • Hi -

Can you please provide more detail? C/ALT & RECORD has been changed to clear a set recording target back to the main playback. There were no changes made to C/ALT & UPDATE - this shortcut should throw a SAVE or SAVE AS dialog depending on whether your current play has been saved already. The Save dialog itself contains a Save As tab as well, in case that's what you're looking to do.

    Hope this helps -

    Sarah

  • I have tested C/ALT & UPDATE on both a Congo sr and Cobalt 10 running v7.2.0 and they both work as expected, throwing the Save/Save As dialogs as needed. If you are seeing something different, please provide some details.

    Thanks much -

    Sarah
