Cobalt Nomad Midi Control

I've been reading a lot of posts about midi for Cobalt. But still haven't got it to work.

What am I missing?

I want to controll master fader and flash with my controller.

I got a Akai LPD8. Drivers installed and configured to the right midi.

I'm sending Note 20 on Channel 1. I've tried both momentary and toggle without any success.

And on the knob I'm sending CC 0 on channel 1.

I'm running coablt in server mode. And got Direct Mode active in midi settings. I also got LPD8 0 as Midi in port.

I'm using software version 7.3.1

What am I doing wrong?

Parents
  • Forgot to say I'm using Cobalt Nomad on windows 10
  • I could be wrong but don't you need a ETC MIDI input? Either a show control gateway or a console to get MIDI into the desk? I don't believe that you can input MIDI using third party hardware.
  • I think you can in Cobalt, but I could be wrong...
  • Cobalt ETCnomad supports use of the Windows MIDI drivers, so as long as the device is compliant with the standard MIDI control, it should work.

    - You mention installing drivers, did you install additional drivers provided by Akai for the MIDI function or just for the configuration software to program the MIDI commands to the LPD8?

Just below the MIDI channel in Standard MIDI settings, there are settings for Keys and Faders. Can you confirm that those are both set to either "Receive" or "Rec/Tra"?
  • Keys and Faders are on Off, but I can't change them to anything. I can't change MIDI Channel and Program Change neither.

I ment the configuration software. I'm pretty sure you get the drivers in the same. Because there is no seperate driver download from their site.
  • In Direct mode, the Keys/Faders/MIDI Channel/ProgramChange settings are not used.
  • Ye, that's what I thought as well
