format csf

Hi

I am having a problem because a lot of theater where I work is renting congo kid or junior  and they are not with the latest update.

so the files csf  file are not read, I have to export in asci cue light.

what is the interest of recording from my computer in csf ? Is there information that is lost in the transfer of one format to another.

Thank you for your return on this subject not very present in the community

  • As explained, .CSF files are the show file format for version 8.x files while the .asc (USITT ASCII) file format was used for versions prior to 8.x. If you are going backwards from version 8.x to 7.x, you do indeed need to export as ASCII so the older software can understand your show data. The things that you lose when doing this are your screen layouts and magic sheets as those features changed significantly in version 8.
