GCE Upgrade required for all consoles to resolve a 1-Port Gateway software issue

Hi everyone -

If you own Net3 1-port Gateways, please read the following note:

Due to a defect found in 1-port gateway software version 4.3.0 we are asking all users that have GCE version 3.0.0 installed upgrade to GCE version 3.0.2. This includes any computers and ETC Lighting Desks. The new version of GCE will install 1-port software version 4.3.1 on the console.
Following the upgrade to GCE version 3.0.2 any 1-port gateways running software version 4.3.0 should be upgraded to 4.3.1 using the newly installed GCE software.


Caution! Using any other method for upgrade will result in an unusable 1-port Gateway.


This process will remove 1-port version 4.3.0 from the system to prevent this newly found issue. The new GCE software can be downloaded from the ETC website using this link. Instructions on how to perform this update process will be posted as a reply to this forum post soon.


The issue with 4.3.0 is related to software upgrades. With 4.3.0 installed, attempting to upgrade or reload 1-port Gateway software using any method other than GCE will make the gateway unusable. Following the reboot from the initial software load, the gateway will continuously request software and reboot. This cycle will continue until the gateway is returned to ETC for repair. If you have upgraded to 4.3.0 software and are experiencing a gateway that continuously reboots and doesn't appear in configuration software please contact ETC Technical Services.
