Touch screen on Congo

Hello my dears,

I don´t know, if I write somothing new, but we use the touch screen on the Congo Console for Channel layouts and other functions and it is absolute perfect. You have very simple and quick access on the channels and very simple and usefull remote controll (touch screen+usb mouse and keyboard) and you have anywhere, what you need.

Best regards

  • What type of touch screen are you using? (if you dont mind me asking)

  • I was told not to attempt putting touchscreens on the congo.

I would like to through! Would be a great time saver when selecting fixtures. What are you using?

  • i have never tried to put them on a congo. I thougt that you might have. Someone told me that ELO makes a touch screen that does not require drivers, which may help you to get this to work. I have no idea if they will work, so try it at your own risk. If it does let me know I am curious.

  • Put another way:

Most touchscreens probably work on Congo. However if you install 3rd party software then we can no longer be sure that it won't die horribly, because we haven't tested the console with the extra drivers involved.

If you can find touchscreens that pretend to be mice and don't require any extra drivers - those will probably work fine as Congo includes a generic mouse driver that we are happy with.

Again, we've not tested these so we can't recommend any particular models. We are intending to test a few common units at some point - but there's no timeline on that yet.

  • Hi,

We use the LG L1730SF 17''. You have to install third party driver on Congo, but the system normaly stable.
