Version 6.4.0 brings support for RDM communication to the local DMX ports on Congo, Congo jr, and Congo Kid consoles and on Congo Light Servers. Along with this major feature, we have made a number of small adjustments to RDM and OSC behavior and have included fixes for a number of issues discovered since the last release.
In addition, we have adjusted some of the keyboard shortcuts when using Congo software on a PC to allow easier operation on computers without a separate numeric keypad. There is a new shortcut guide available on the Web site, and there is a new mapping of X-Keys for the XK-60 panel designed for this version (see www.xkeys.com for information on X-Keys programmable keyboards). The old X-Keys macro file for the X-Keys Professional 58-Key panel is still available, but is noted for use with versions 6.0.0-6.3.2 due to the keyboard shortcuts it includes.
This version requires a new firmware for the I/O board in consoles and light servers. The software installer will perform this update automatically with minimum user interaction required. If the automatic update of the I/O board fails for any reason, please use the System Settings Update function to perform the update manually. The firmware file is placed on the hard drive of the console by the main installer so no other download should be required to perform the update using System Settings.
