Storing intensity only on faders

Hi,

i have a problem with storing only intensity on faders on Congo jr.

Every time i try to store only intensity it also stores position too.

I'm most likely doing something wrong (please be patient, since i'm used to having a programmer - from hog to congo is a bit frustrating)

thanks for your help :)

  • [Record] & [Master_Key] always records in "Active" attribute mode, meaning "If light is on and selected, record all its attributes".
    - Basically because almost everybody wants that almost all the time.

Sometimes, you don't and there are two ways to do this.

    1) Use a Group.
A Congo Group contains Intensity and Selection only.
    - I would recommend doing it this way unless you have a specific reason why it needs to be a Preset. (Eg usage in a Sequence etc)

(Congo also has "Chs" content if you just do [Group] & [Master_Key]. This isn't recorded anywhere else, it's just on the Master)

    2) If you want it to be a Preset, it's easiest to do this as follows:

    1. Select channels, # [Record] & [Preset]
    2. Look in the Advanced tab for the setting "Record Attribute Mode", and choose "Changed" or "Popup"
      - "Changed" is pretty much "Hog mode". It means only record attributes that have been touched - purple.
      - "Popup" means "Ask me if I want to record any changed attributes"
      - Your setting here is remembered for the next Record / Record & Preset
    3. # [Preset] & [Master_Key] to assign your new Preset

In case you didn't find this yet, you can also delete Attributes from a Preset on your Masters:

    1. [Modify] & [Master_Key] to open the Master Editor
    2. [Attrib] to open the Preset Attribute Editor
    3. Select each device in the editor (first cell)
    4. [Delete], [Modify] to confirm
    5. Once you've deleted all the Attributes, [Update] to confirm the change
    6. [Esc] to close the editor

Once you get used to the idea you'll find not having a programmer to be very liberating - no more "must copy stuff to edit anything" or "Damn, I forgot to clear it".
Personally I absolutely love having Live and Preset List (blind editor!) visible at the same time!
(Yes, I came from Hog as well)
