Hi all -
I've added a new forum for users of Cobalt hardware and for those of you who use Cobalt software on Congo hardware. If you are using Cobalt, please join us in the new forum.
This forum will continue to exist, but will focus mainly on software versions 6.4.1 and older.
Thanks all -
Does this mean that software for Congo has reached its ultimate version in 6.4.1?
Yes. The final version for Congo software is 6.4.1.
But that doesn't mean that 6.4.1 is the final software version for Congo consoles. The new Cobalt software runs on all Congo consoles. Despite the changed graphical look and its many new features, it is fully compatible with all existing consoles.
The current software version for Congo consoles is 7.0.
If I put Cobalt software on my Congo am I in essence installing a new operating system? Would this mean learning a new console from the ground up?

No you wont need to learn everything again. There are some new ways of doing things in Colbalt but its not like learning a new console.
Also when you install cobalt it doesn't remove Congo. You are able to switch between the two so can be learning cobalt while running your current show on Congo.
We've got Cobalt software on our Congo (senior). It's really just the next generation of Congo, but designed around the newer hardware. You'll notice that Cobalt software starts at version 7, not 1; the last version of Congo was 6.4.1You'll be very familiar with the software, but it has a lot of extra/new features.
Interesting. So is the syntax the same as Congo? You enter a number then define what the number means. i.e. 1 channel 50 at level?
Yes and no.... Yes you can still use RPN, but you can also set it to @Mode.
I hope that helps...
Hi Mark,The software uses the same syntax as Congo, as it is Congo really! (Congo V7 = Cobalt), just enhanced and working on a new range of hardware.
Congo consoles is 7.0. is avaible
but i dont try it if you ll do thid please share us your ideas
