Device Control - Lamp Strike & Reset - CP Alpha 300 BEAM - 2 control channels

Hi everyone,

I would like to do a personality for Clay Paky Alpha 300 Beam (Standard mode) to make a use of two control channels available in this fixture. One channel is for reset functions, second is for lamp control.

Is it possible form the Device > Control > … to have control of two DMX channel values that device has?

Now inserting CP alpha 300 from Congo’s extended library, in “Device > Control” there are options:
- Lamp Idle
- Lamp On
- Lamp Off
- Lamp Reset
Only “Lamp Reset” works from these four and should be labeled as "Fixture Reset" because it does fixture reset (not the lamp reset). So how to do a CleanUp with this? How to make only necessary options with proper labels and bring them to life - for me it will be:
 - Lamp On
 - Lamp Off
 - Fixture Reset

Please write how to do it on the Clay Paky Alpha 300 Beam example.

  • The Control functions can be spread out across as many attributes as you wish, as long as the following guidelines are observed:

    • The relevant ranges must be named as follows:
      • "Idle" - Lamp Idle range, used under normal operation, or in the case of Vari*Lites this activates the previously-chosen function.
      • "Lamp On" - Range for striking a lamp
      • "Lamp Off" - Range for dousing a lamp
      • "Reset" - Range for reset functions
    • All attributes used for control functions must have a range named "Idle".
      • Without this range you can't put the attribute back without using encoders or [Home].
    • You cannot have two attributes with the same name.
    • Within a given attribute, you cannot have two ranges with the same name.
    • The "Control" attribute is never recorded. If you want to record control functions, use Aux1 or Aux2 instead.

    So in the case of this Clay Paky light:

    1. Create two control attributes, named Control, Aux1 and/or Aux2.
    2. Set the 'Default' (home) values for each, and then create an "Idle" range in each attribute set to the default value.
    3. Create the relevant named ranges in each attribute.
      • Remember that you can have several attributes with a given range name, and they will all activate simultaneously.
