I was having some major stability issues at the tail end of last year and having recently upgraded to V5 assumed (incorrectly) that the problem was software related.
I then did a check on our supply power. I live in the tropics and during our monsoon season we get all sorts of irregularities in supply power from over voltage to brownouts.
I bought a cheap UPS only 650VA and running two LCD 17" monitors I still get at least 10 minutes of run time without supply power.
The UPS I bought is line interactive, so it monitors voltage and frequency of the incomming supply and conditions it automatically.
It set me back AU$150 and is the best investment I've made for a console that cost AU $30 000 plus.
Highly recommended addition for those who don't yet have one.
