midi control congo jnr

hi all,

looking for some advice for a show i am involved in. i have a congo jnr console. the stage will be split into 7 different areas, so the idea was to have a switch in each area which the performer would use to turn that area on or of, would like to do this with midi signal to operate faders . is this poss? and what if any midi interface units are available to perform this task? anyone have any ideas , much appreciated

cheers

  • Hi,

Richard already suggested some good things.

Another way to do it with MIDI would be to use a box from MIDI Solutions, the F8. http://www.midisolutions.com/prodf8.htm

This is a 8-channel contact closure / footswitch to MIDI interface that is fully programmable. You can program an input to set Controller X at a level when the key/switch is pressed. And have it go back to 0 when the key/switch is released. You can download the F8 programming software from MIDI Solutions web page. (Note that the MIDI solutions gear is powered via the MIDI input contact, so maybe also get their MIDI Power adapter).
