Par Can chases

Hi all, Just wondering I'm using Dynamic 13 on my selected par cans to chase them at the moment. I want to make my own chase up with my pars then insert this into a preset. I make my chase into a sequence then how do I insert this into a preset or do I have to trigger this by master playback faders.

To put it into english I want to make my own chase up and then record it into a preset. How do I do this.

  • Hi Carl,

The easiest way is to use the chase wizard to build your chase. After you load that chase  onto a master fader, you insert a master link in your sequence in the main playback in the sequence step where you want your chase to start (press and hold insert and then the master button where your chase is). In the sequence step where you want the case to stop you do the same thing. Now you open the master pages and select the page where your chase is on. Here you can set in and out times and in your sequence list you can set the target level of that chase.

     I hope that makes sense.

  • Yes, that's the idea!

    1. Create the chase
    2. Load the chase onto any Master Fader
    3. Create a Master Link to that Master Fader in the sequence step that starts the chase, and set the "Target Level" to 100% (or whatever level you want)
    4. Create a Master Link to the same Master Fader in the sequence step that stops the chase, and set the "Target Level" to 0%.

When the 'start' sequence step is run, the contents of the chosen Master will be automatically loaded to the same state as when the link was created, and it will virtually fade to the "Target Level" using the timing data from the fader's contents.

If you want to manually take over, raise the physical fader to at or above the virtual level and you then have control until the next sequence step is run that links to the Master.

  • Hi Florian,
