  • The problem is that the unit doesn't yet have an IP address.

You need ETC Net2 Configuration Editor (NCE) v4.3.0 from our website.

    • Configure your PC for use on ETC networks (IP 10.101.1.x, subnet 255.255.0.0, Gateway 10.101.1.x)
    • Start NCE, then in the menus choose Network > Connect.
    • Then Network > Network Address Server
      • In the bottom-left, you should see "bootp server started"
      • If that doesn't appear, close NCE, run NicPicker and try again
    • Now reboot the node.
      • It should show Bootp... then get an IP address of 10.101.50.x
    • You can now choose Network > Get Unbound Nodes and configure it as normal.
      • Remember to use Network > Send Config to Nodes after configuring.

    To use NicPicker:

    • Open Windows Explorer, navigate to Program Files/ETC/NICPICKER
    • Run the NICPICKER application.
    • Select the correct network card to use for configuring the Node.
    • Click "Save", accept the default save location.
      • It may warn you that you're overwriting, say yes.
    • Close the NicPicker application - you are now ready to use NCE.

Note that all this assumes you're running Windows XP.

If you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7 then you will need to have installed the application as Administrator and always run it as Administrator.
