Scrollers and Control Channels

Hi,

I'm doing some work in a venue at the moment with a number of scrollers on a V6 Congo. The venue is set up so that all the scrollers are addressed differently, but the lanterns they are attached to are paired.

Currently, the set up on the desk is to simply have the control of the paired lanterns and then to use different set of channel numbers to control the scrollers.

I'm guessing this is the best solution, but would ideally like to have a single set of channels on the desk that I can use to control both intensity and colour; I'm a little worried that at some point I won't set the dummy level on the scroller channel and will forget to click to include zero level channel attributes.

Hope that makes sense and that there might be a solution!

Thanks

  • I guess you're most likely to control not one lantern, so please use Groups to adress the scrollers. – Then there's no need to think about whether you have real fixtures behind the desk fixture or if it's just a dummy channel.

I never experienced any difficulties in having two channels for two scrollers. You can select and handle both of the dimmer channels, there be a real dimmer behind or not.
