Effect channel in layout view

They can be now!  In your layout, type {1} then {Effect} + {Insert}.  It has worked for me.

Or just select the Effect Playback(s) using your normal selection syntax and hit [Insert].

This also works for channels if you'd like to insert a lot of channels at the same time.
