Proposed Flash Button Setting: Latch (not to be confused with toggle)

Perhaps there is a way to do this that I am overlooking, but I am trying to accomplish a toggle that can be overridden by other master playbacks.

For example: I have a beam palette masked for just prism and then assign that beam palette to a master playback. I would like to be able to activate a latch function that toggles prism on/off when pressing it, but would allow it to be overridden (when in the latched "on" state) if running up a master playback with a preset in it or something containing a different value for prism.

I definitely see the value in having the ultimate persistance of toggle which is why I am proposing a "latch" setting. Thoughts??

  • I don't understand what you mean here, because the part you seem to be asking for is the default function of all attribute controls in Congo.

Attributes (eg Prism) are Latest-Takes-Precedence (LTP).

This means that attribute values stay unchanged until given a new value by anything containing a new value - as you described above.

  • Thanks for the reply!

I will be back at the console in a couple of days and I will try again, but it seemed to me as if the latch was taking precedence over everything when toggled on with the flash button.

    Thanks again.
