on an Ion Xe you can use MoreSK plus the encoder category buttons as shortcut for the softkeys. this doesn't work in the Flexi context where you keep Flexi pressed and then add the shortcut.
don't know if there are other combinations of a maintained press plus softkey, i assume they wouldn't work either.
