Problems with iRFR Preview app

Hi,

I just set up a connection for my ETC Puck which is running the most updated EOS software version. I tried connecting to it with the iRFR preview app after connecting to the router, and no connection was possible. However, my teacher who is using the full iRFR app (the paid one) connected to the router, opened the app, and was immediately connected. Is it the fact that my teacher is using an android and I’m using an iPhone? Or is the iRFR preview app not compatible? 

I’m only asking because I want to make sure that it’s only a problem with that app in particular, so that I don’t run into this when I pay $50 for the full app.

Any help would be appreciated!
