I am attempting to record a new sequence onto one of the color source pars at my school and I am having trouble. I have connected the par to our ETC ION, and am able to recognize the light in the RDM patch, both the light and the console have the light in RGB mode. I have been able to record to presets, but I am unable to record a preset.
The only documention I have been able to find is that the par has to be in RGB mode which it is.
Do I have to record the colors step by step somehow? I want to have the light go from purple to orange passing through red. (So recorded as purple, red, orange, red?)
Thanks in advance!
Just to make sure we're talking about the same thing: you want to store data directly in the colorsource par to allow standalone use, or do you want to control it from the console and make it fade through certain colors?
Yes, I want to store the data directly in the par, so when data is disconnected I can run the sequence.
You can't store the data directly via console. Here a link to the manual http://www.etcconnect.com/WorkArea/DownloadAsset.aspx?id=10737494638
I have read the manual and it says I can use RDM to save both presets and sequences, i have connected RDB (data) to the light using our console.
Where did you read it in the manual (v 1.7)? with RDM you can change the DMX Address, Mode and PWM frequency.
Page 8: "All presets and sequences can be re-recorded through an RDM device."
I think this is wrong, maybe it is planned for a future version. The manual is only talking about re-recording via a DMX device.
What you can do is use Concert to Record a sequence (or presets). If you open Concert, let it find your lights, then click on menu "View" -> "Dock" -> "Device Operations" and select one of your Pars, you can edit, record and play presets which can also be used to assemble a sequence (see top tabs in this windows) which can also be edited / timed and so on. This is working here at least... I am using Concert 3.1.
